Salary Band 4 - £25,288 to £27,758 per annum with weekend enhancements being paid at time and a half and double time (potentially equating to an additional £7k per annum)

This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Hours:                        37.5 per week including alternate weekends

Shifts:                         7.30am to 3.30pm and 11.00am to 7.00pm            

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Senior Chef to work within our Estates & Facilities Team. You will support our Catering Manager to lead our catering team in our busy kitchen. You will be organised and be dedicated to providing a high standard service for our patients, staff and visitors. 

Flexibility is required if there are any functions on an evening or events at the weekend. There is also an opportunity to have hours that suit a better work life balance, we also offer occupational sick pay in addition to the benefits below.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • To act as a leader and role model, working at all times to embed and uphold the Hospices values and behaviours across the team.
  • Preparing and cooking food for our patients, staff and visitors.
  • Assist the Catering Manager for menu planning, ensuring the food is well presented, healthy, and nutritional.
  • To ensure all dietary needs of patients, staff and visitors are met.
  • Assist the Catering Manager to review relevant food safety policies, regulations, and legislation.
  • Support the Catering Manager to ensure that the rota is running to suit business needs.
