This is a Permanent, Part Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Part time hours available - 22.5 - 30 hours per week. The part time hours will be worked Monday to Fridays, occasional weekend working may be necessary.

Our Spiritual Care vision is to ‘journey with people, listening and helping them as they seek to make sense of things, find peace and find meaning in living and dying’. As Spiritual Care Coordinator, you will be an enthusiastic, motivated and skilled professional with experience of working in a pastoral role. The Spiritual Care Service is part of the Family support team working collaboratively alongside: Social workers, bereavement workers and the young people’s service.

It is important that the person in this role is comfortable with, and able to balance, these elements in leading our spiritual care service.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an outstanding (CQC rated) organisation and to support ongoing spiritual care service development.

You will:

  • Lead and deliver spiritual care support for patients, families and staff, regardless of faith or beliefs. (Hospice wide)
  • Line manage a Band 5 Spiritual Care Worker and a group of Spiritual Care volunteers, working as part of the Family Support Team and wider Multi-Disciplinary Team.
  • Contribute to delivering training and education to staff, volunteers and external professionals.
  • Be experienced in supporting people through times of distress and emotional conflict and provide supervision as required.
  • Be involved in the planning and leadership of relevant special events such as Memorial Services and Light up a Life.
