St Gemma’s Hospice is seeking a Community Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) who is passionate about delivering holistic care and supporting patients in a community setting. ​This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and have the opportunity to support current service developments.

You will need:

  • Significant experience at Band 5 working in specialist palliative care or caring for palliative care patients in a community or hospital setting
  • Experience and knowledge of symptom management
  • Ability to communicate effectively in complex clinical situations and with colleagues
  • Desire to be part of a flexible and ambitious multi-disciplinary team 
  • A driving licence and access to a car for work related purposes

St Gemma’s is an innovative and pioneering Hospice, providing services recently rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. We play a key role in influencing the future of palliative care in Leeds through the citywide Leeds Palliative Care Network. We are a leader in palliative care research, education and evidence into practice and are the first University Teaching Hospice. We provide both in-patient and community specialist palliative and end-of-life care.

This is a fulltime post, however 30 hrs worked over 4 days will be considered.

St Gemma’s Hospice is a Leeds-based charity providing expert care and support for local people with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. We offer care to patients and their carers in the Hospice’s In-Patient Unit, through the St Gemma’s community team, and via our day services, which include a Day Hospice and Out-Patient Department.
