Vacancy:                    Family Support Manager

Salary Range:            Band 7 - £46,589 - £53,177 per annum (pro-rata)

Hours:                        30 hours (Monday-Friday)

Are you ready to lead a passionate, dedicated team and make a real difference? We have an exciting opportunity to join St Gemma’s Hospice in the post of Family Support Manager. The role involves managing and leading a team of Social Workers, the Bereavement Service, Young People’s Bereavement Service and the Spiritual Care Team. You will role model the St Gemma’s values and behaviour framework and be warm, approachable and a compassionate leader.

 As the Family Support Manager, you will be expected to:

  • Be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration.
  • Take the lead for all Safeguarding issues and be trained to Level 4 standard as specified by intercollegiate guidance for health services, ensuring effective safeguarding practice and appropriate reporting (Desirable)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, partnership working and problem-solving skills.
  • Have experience and knowledge of statutory requirements and local procedures including the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
  • Have experience of working with bereavement and loss and the ability to manage emotionally complex situations.
