The role
Would you like a volunteer role supporting our patients?
We are looking for Outpatient Support Volunteers on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon for 2-3 hours a week. St Gemma’s Hospice Outpatients provide extra support to patients and their families if the patient chooses to remain at home during their illness.
Patients can enjoy the friendly and therapeutic environment, access creative therapy activities, wellbeing, emotional support and appointments with specialist doctors and therapists.
The role will involve welcoming patients, serving refreshments and informing patients about the various activities on offer. For further details, please see the role profile below.

St Gemma’s Hospice is an independent Leeds-based charity and one of the leading hospices in the UK, providing expert care and support for local people with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. We offer care to patients, families and carers in the Hospice’s In-Patient Unit, through the St Gemma’s community team, and at our Out-Patients.
We have around 300 employees working across the main Hospice site in Moortown, Retail Hub in Bramley, a large chain of charity shops, and out in the community.
